Abuse Can Be Silent, But You Don’t Have to Be

Behind silence can be fear. Behind a smile can be pain. And behind closed doors, someone may be experiencing violence that no one else can see.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is never the victim’s fault. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, valued and heard, free from violence and abuse.

If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, you do not have to suffer in silence. Speak to someone you trust, seek appropriate support, and remember that your voice matters.

Breaking the silence is an important step towards challenging harmful attitudes and creating communities where violence is not tolerated and everyone can live with dignity and safety.

We all have a role to play. Listen without judgement. Support survivors. Speak out against violence. Challenge harmful behaviours and norms. Help create spaces where people feel safe to seek help.

Together, we can break the silence, challenge harmful attitudes and build communities where everyone can live free from violence.

Speak up. Break the silence. End the violence.
